10 August 2010 Government Commissioner to the military court Magistrate Saqr Saqr on Tuesday pressed charges of spying for Israel against Fayez Karam and referred him to Military Magistrate Riad Abu Ghida for questioning and the issuance of an arrest warrant against him.
Fayez Karam, 62, a retired Lebanese army officer and a senior official with Michel Aoun's Free Patriotic Movement, was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of spying for Israel.

Lebanon said on Saturday it was committed to building up its armed forces after complaints by Israel about Western assistance to the military following a deadly border clash between the two countries.
